FAQ

WHERE DOES THE NAME COULD I HAVE THAT COME FROM?
It was a joke that my sister and I would to say to each other when we wanted something really badly. We’d say could i have that? in a high innocent voice.

WHAT SIZE ARE YOU?
I’m just under 5’8″ / size 25 jean / 0-2 or small / 9 shoe.

HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START IN BLOGGING?
While working in the publishing business (Santa Barbara Magazine) I started Could I Have That as a creative outlet for all the things I was currently loving and coveting. Not knowing where my career was heading, especially during the economic decline, I viewed it as an online resume for potential employers. Flash forward a few years and it became my full time job. I feel grateful everyday that I get to do something that I love and function as my own boss.

HOW DID YOU GROW A FOLLOWING?
I get this question a lot! My readership grew pretty organically in the beginning. I wasn’t trying to make it a business but when people started leaving comments I thought, wow I should take this seriously. Once I started putting more thought and effort into each post and created an editorial calendar that I stuck to, brands started reaching out for collaborations and advertising. I also loved it so much that I just lived and breathed the blogging community. I attended events, conferences and made friends with fellow bloggers.

WHO TAKES YOUR PICTURES?
Arna Bee. But when the amazing Arna isn’t available or we’re traveling my husband Todd steps in. We use a Canon 6D with a 50mm lens or an 11-24 mm lens.

I’M VISITING SANTA BARBARA, WHERE SHOULD I STAY/EAT/SHOP?
You can check out my Santa Barbara Black Book for favorite haunts in my hometown and recommendations if you plan on going up to Santa Ynez for some wine tasting/dining.

WHO COLORS YOUR HAIR?
Believe it or not, I’ve never died my hair, EVER. Its au natural. I’m one of four red heads and each one of us have a variation of red. However I am flirting with the idea of trying out some highlights.

HOW DO YOU STAY SO SLIM?
I’ve always been a skinny minny. It’s just the body I was born with. I don’t exercise like a crazy person or watch what I eat too closely. I just try to keep everything in moderation, make healthy decisions (i.e. something green every day) and exercise when I can motivate myself. I walk once or twice a week with a friend, practice yoga when I have the time and swim.
