Summery White Dresses

Every year I look forward to summer but dread the June gloom that notoriously rolls in along the coast. It’s a tease each year—two steps forward one step back kind of dance. I started prepping for cold and gloomy mornings (sometimes days) by getting out my coziest cashmere and layers. I kid you not every year at the start of June, and I take note of this because of my birthday, the fog creeps in from the coast. My past birthday weekends have usually revolved around getting out of dodge in search of reliable sunshine—Ojai and Palm Springs have been favorite destinations. However this year we stayed put and I made bets with some friends who doubted my cloudy prediction. June 1st came and went and not a single white puff in the sky—not yet anyways. I didn’t fight it one bit and decided to soak in every moment of the sunny start to June.
