My mom was my first, and remains my best, shopping partner to date. It’s something we’ve always had fun doing together and she gives sound advice while not being too pushy with things she likes on me. And I credit her for introducing me to all things fashion. She always had a stack of magazines in her bedroom (W was the favorite), had expensive taste and educated me on some classic brands. As I grew older, milestones were often celebrated with coveted wardrobe pieces and my sweet mom was, and still is, all about snagging “just because” gifts.
Years ago when I met a guy named Todd that I really liked she bought a pair of Tod’s driving moccasins, just for fun. I still have those shoes and I married my Todd. A shopping omen? Or just a classic pair. I’m going with both. Mom’s really do know best. Naturally Tod’s shoes and handbags have become a family favorite. However my husband, the Todd himself, still needs a pair so I’ve been on the hunt over at Nordstrom (side note: the best selection I’ve found yet) for the perfect pair. We didn’t settle on a style for him yet, but I did manage to snag a pair for myself.
Small tip, if you pick up a pair for yourself keep in mind they come tight but stretch out a ton the more you wear them. Nordstrom is a great place to test them out since the service is top notch and if you have any issues they can easily help you get the right size.
Tods moccasins (also coveting this pair), chambray shirt (similar), Paige jeans, Ray Ban aviators, Celine bag (similar), One Jewelry ring, Carrie Hoffman knuckle ring, Jennifer Fisher ring.
Thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring this trip down memory lane.
