Now that summer has officially arrived my wardrobe has taken on a different pace that’s mirroring my relaxed routine these days. Somewhere between the heat and living in a bikini, I’ve come to depend on those loose, breezy sundresses. I’ll be honest, I’m the first to play hooky from any kind of plans when it’s a perfect beach day so a dress that can take me from home, to work, to errands and then to the beach—or just to the beach, period—is a winner in my book.

Hatch happens to make a dress (The Penelope dress, pictured) that I would easily consider an essential for any summer wardrobe, here’s why. It’s super duper comfortable (may have napped in this one last week) and has the most subtle stripe that belongs on the beach. The black ribbon ties though are my favorite detail. They beg for a black sandal and any other black basics, making it one of those pieces to carry into fall.
