Never underestimate the power of a classic white blouse. Why? Because you literally can where it year round, it acts as the perfect layering piece under knits or dresses and it’s the most timeless sophisticated piece you could have in your wardrobe. Lately I’ve been leaning on my white blouses hard. Probably because transitioning into a new season can always be tricky and my M.O. is to pull out the classics. There are three specific ways I love to style mine.
#1 With your favorite pair of jeans.
I have an old pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans that are at least 5 years old but the shape and fit is unparalleled by any other denim in my closet. They’re pretty ripped and tattered at the knees so I typically throw them on for errands, lazy weekend days or just casual days in general.
#2 Tucked into high waisted, wide leg pants.
A more dressed up way of showing off a crisp white blouse—Rachel Comey Legion Pants pictured. I will usually had some gold jewelry and a statement bag for meetings or a lunch date.
#3 Peeking through a knit.
Whether it’s a crewneck, grandpa cardigan or duster, you get that old school layering look. For evenings out sometimes I’ll throw on leather pants to add a bit of edge.
