Right about now is the time when hints of fall start trickling into the stores and it always gets me excited for the season ahead. Word to the wise, if there is something you really really want for the cooler months ahead, better snag it now because the good stuff goes like hot cakes—buy now wear later. Personally I start with the basics and I love finding budget friendly finds so I turned to Walmart recently to find a few black staples as we ease into Fall. Black is the first thing I start incorporating whether it’s a sandal or a timeless dress, it just feels apropos for the time. Not to mention it’s something I wear 90% of the year, holds a sense of undeniable sophistication and functions as a neutral in a wardrobe.
I’ve been looking for a piece that can take me from zoom meetings to school pick-up and is comfortable on a warm day but will function with layers as we move into Fall.
I quickly narrowed in on this Time and Tru Utility Shirt Dress that checks all the boxes and I love the square belt detail. It’s super soft and comfortable, beyond happy with this one. I’ve been pairing it with some easy slides as that is the only kind of shoe I seem to be wearing these days, well that and sneakers!
