Considering the first decade and a half of my life was spent with my hair in a bun—ballet bunhead here!—it’s no wonder the classic and easy style is one of my favorites. I remember fussing as a kid over fly-aways, or “wispies” as I used to call them, and making my hair as tight and slicked back as possible, nowadays I prefer my buns to be perfectly messy with an undone look. Below are some variations that are currently inspiring me to get creative in the bun department.
