A friend (and mama) told me that once you reach 8 months its like a whole new chapter of motherhood. I have to say I completely agree. Every week Elin seems to pick up a new way of interacting and her personality is coming out more and more. She waves bye-bye, bangs her hands on her high chair for more food, screams HEY (or at least it sounds like it) when she wants our attention, has a preference on what books she wants to read and immediately smiles when a camera is in front of her face. It’s pretty amazing watching this little being grow.

Meanwhile I’ve been finding it harder and harder to not be with her for this very reason—I don’t want to miss a thing, let alone a first thing! I love her so much I can’t contain my kisses. Here are a few things we’ve been using/loving and relying on…

We’re traveling next week—Elin’s first flight!—and I’ve been studying up on tips. This list from Amber Fillerup has been the most helpful. I’ll make sure to share a few of my own after our trip! Wish us luck!

Our new high chair that I’m completely obsessed with, looks beyond cool in our kitchen and dining room… this book for cooking up homemade baby food, although I do use organic pouches from time to time, I try and keep a balance.

This foam pad for the bath… a perfect transition now that Elin is sitting up.
