Summer in Central Park

July 12, 2016

CIHT_NYC_JUNE_153Of all the times I’ve been to New York City, I’ve never actually spent time enjoying Central Park. I’ve dashed in for a quick glimpse and moment, driven through on a snowy February day and been turned away by rain another time. So on a recent trip we made a point to go on a perfect Saturday and do as the New Yorkers do, find sunshine and a patch of grass. With Elin in tow it was an extra special experience which called for ice cream, a trip to see the boats and making lots of new friends. Also skip below to see my top ten essentials for a summer picnic—we forgot some key things on this excursion which sent me down a rabbit hole to find the best of the best out there.

On me: Doen dress, Valia Gabriel sandals, Jennifer Fisher charm necklace and cuff, Celine sunglasses (similar). On Elin: Bonton dress (currently on sale), Saltwater sandals.

It’s the first umbrella stroller we’ve had and it makes getting around a place like New York City (and airports) easy peasy. It folds up super easily and has a hood for shade—also super necessary for summer days.
