Of all the times I’ve been to New York City, I’ve never actually spent time enjoying Central Park. I’ve dashed in for a quick glimpse and moment, driven through on a snowy February day and been turned away by rain another time. So on a recent trip we made a point to go on a perfect Saturday and do as the New Yorkers do, find sunshine and a patch of grass. With Elin in tow it was an extra special experience which called for ice cream, a trip to see the boats and making lots of new friends. Also skip below to see my top ten essentials for a summer picnic—we forgot some key things on this excursion which sent me down a rabbit hole to find the best of the best out there.
On me: Doen dress, Valia Gabriel sandals, Jennifer Fisher charm necklace and cuff, Celine sunglasses (similar). On Elin: Bonton dress (currently on sale), Saltwater sandals.
This Inglesina Net stroller was the best thing ever while navigating the city. It’s the first umbrella stroller we’ve had and it makes getting around a place like New York City (and airports) easy peasy. It folds up super easily and has a hood for shade—also super necessary for summer days.
