With the Holidays right around the corner, It’s been on my to-do list to refresh all of the bathrooms in our house since we’ll be hosting a lot this year. This is one of the aspects of entertaining that I love to do, the details. I try to think of everything for our overnight guests from robes and slippers down to a little jar with q-tips and cotton balls. So I spent some time the other day sourcing/ordering some new (and old) favorites and found some new things I’m excited to style the different bathrooms with.
Whether guests are coming over for dinner or staying the night, I love creating a little ambiance in the bathroom with a scented candle and dimmed lights at night. I also have a slight obsession with beautifully presented hand soap and lotion.
My Go-To
Candle Scents
I have a few favorites when it comes to candles. The Jenni Kayne Ash is my absolute favorite (use my code for 20% off SAMANTHA20), friends notoriously inquire when I’m burning it in the house anywhere. I also love Diptyque Figuier/Fig and Le Labo Santal 26. Since we’re cruising into the Holiday season I have my eye on Jo Malone’s new holiday scent Pine & Eucalyptus, which always adds to a cozy fall/winter feeling.
The Best
Bath Towels
I’m super picky when it comes to my bath towels. I used to think the bigger/thicker terry the better but over the years I much prefer a lighter weight waffle material, however it has to be one that really soaks up the water! Nothing drives me crazier. Rough Linen came out with their bath collection last year and it’s been one of our favorites ever since. I love everything they do from their bedding and table linens to the perfectly thirsty waffle weave bath and hand towels. Also the colors are so neutral and pretty I can’t get enough. I love displaying them in baskets for our house guests and using the hook hand towels in our own bathroom for drying. They’re so convenient and overall the best quality I have found.
Overnight Guest Bathroom Essentials:
For guests who are staying the night I try to think of all the little things they might need to be more comfortable. From robes and slippers to a water carafe and an emergency toothbrush and toothpaste. Here are some favorites, am I missing anything?
