Normally our Santa Barbara summers never end and the hot days stretch well into September. But this year we’ve had cooler days and foggy mornings and I’ve been kind of loving it. It just feels like fall! I’ve actually worn cozy knits, coats and even boots already which has made me sink my heels into the season more. Here’s a few looks as of late.
Chunky Knit sweaters paired with jeans
I finally found a pair of vintage Levi’s that fit just how I want them to and I’ve been loving a chunky white knit paired with them—especially this Bell hand Knit Cardigan by Ozma of California. Also just any cable knit sweater right now is catching my eye. I’m coveting a few from Nili Lotan at the moment but especially this Georgie knit. Another great cable knit option that’s under $200 is this Men’s Heritage Sweater—I’ve had the best luck in the past going for a size small men’s sweater. Sometimes it’s the perfect oversize fit.
Fall Florals + Plaids
I love a good fall floral with earthy, dark tones or a classic Liberty print for Fall. And plaids are of course the most quintessential thing you could wear for the season. For me there’s not better time for a print. I’ve been loving all things Dôen lately (dress pictured) and living in an old Isabel Marant blazer—similar find here.
Earthy Shades
Jenni Kayne does color so well and I’ve been living in a lot of her pieces from cashmere sweaters and shearling mules to a linen t shirt dress in navy. It’s all such wearable, comfortable yet refined and I’m such a fan. Also my code “SAMANTHA15” will get you 15% off in-store and online.
Peter Pan Collars
Something about a sweet feminine collar feels like a nod to school uniforms and I that sense of nostalgia feels oh so Fall. I love the scalloped edges on the Virginia top by St. Roche and the ties at the top. Some other collared pieces I picked up lately… Dôen Hickory Top, and the Dôen Birdie Dress.
