The start of a new year is never smooth, at least for me. I always seem to fumble around searching for that bit of inspiration that I’m craving or that feeling of being in the flow of it all. I opened up to questions on Instagram lately and someone asked where I get my style inspiration from and I easily answered it—strangers on the street, shopping and imagery in magazines, online or old family photos of my grandmother or mom. It dawned on me recently that I needed to take my own advice, just to get that dose of excitement I was needing. So I poured myself a glass of wine one night, found some old magazines and photo albums, browsed pinterest and took to some online shopping. Here are some things I’m currently excited about.
Feminine pieces paired with chunky boots. I got into this a bit in the fall but loving it now with the warm California winter we’ve been having. The Freda Salvador Brooke boot is my go-to or the Emi Boot is a favorite as well.
Stripes are definitely having a moment, I’m sure you’ve noticed. The classic print feels fresh again for whatever reason and I’m here for it. We re-stocked our popular Beatrice striped knit over on Wrel and they’re going quickly so I highly suggest snagging one now if you’ve had your eye on it.
Chunky knits have been on repeat for me, maybe it’s this time of year or maybe I just found the one (Jenni Kayne Fisherman Cocoon Crewneck) that feels like the perfect amount of “chunk” but I’ve been loving that bit of volume. I sized up and I just love the oversized fit too. As always you can use my code “Samantha15” for 15% off at Jenni Kayne online and in store.
The other style bit I’ve been excited about lately are some new sneakers I picked up. I’ve been wearing them with jeans and peacoats or chunky knits with a baseball cap and it feels like the perfect California Winter look. Linking a few favorites I got below.
