I have my days where I feel like this constant attachment to social media weighs me down and I question it—a lot. However in the past few days I saw it in the best possible light when I shared the announcement of our baby on the way and our struggle with infertility. Connecting with so many of you has been profound for me and feeling like I could bring a bit of hope to someone who is going through the same struggle is fulfilling. Not to mention healing in a way for me to talk more about it. Aside from that amazing part of my week, here are some other things that are on my mind, wish list and wardrobe that I’m currently excited about.
1.
I’ve developed a bit of an obsession with nightstands. Not just the actual piece of furniture (although I did go through that phase while looking for this one), but the fact that someone’s nightstand is almost like the inside of their handbag and can say a lot about a person. In other words, I love how it can be an expression of your style, lifestyle in display in your home. What you’re currently reading, the hand cream you can’t live without and the everyday jewelry you slip on at the start of everyday. Here are the things you’ll find on my nightstand. Not included below, The Wooden Palate white oak nesting bowl, which I use all over the house and for entertaining, and a Sugar Paper notebook I use to write down cute things Elin says.

I’ve been getting really excited about shifting into Fall and pinning like crazy over on my Pinterest page. It’s got me day dreaming about fall entertaining, apple pie and apple picking, faded earthy tones, golden light and scenes like this one.

I literally just ran out of my Dr. Sturm Hyaluronic Serum a few days ago and refilled this week with a little trip to Space NK. I can’t live without this stuff in general but especially at the start of Fall. My skin has been feeling the change in season so I loaded up on some favorites like this one. My go-to’s here.

You guys have probably noticed on my Instagram page, but I’m really having fun pulling out some new plaid prints—it’s never too early right? I mean I take the start of September as the license to start wearing it. On repeat, this jacket (seen here) and this dress (seen here). One reason I love the Fall season are all the earthy tones that come out to play. Jenni Kayne’s Fall Collection is full of them and I’ve been itching to scoop up some more.
