Last week Todd and I managed to squeeze in a little 2-night getaway in Sonoma at MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa and it made me realize two things… first, we need to get up to this area more because it’s so quaint and relaxing! Second, the drive from Santa Barbara to Sonoma/Napa is really quite relaxing (sans kids of course) and since we had our car we were able to explore the area so much more.
We absolutely loved staying at MacArthur Place which felt extra cozy on a dewy December morning. The classic white cottages felt quintessential to the area but I especially loved the big verandas that wrapped around our suite—ideal for lounging with a bottle of wine. And of course the handful of fire pit lounge areas to cozy up to. I slipped into the spa (which was recently updated) and had the most relaxing massage—10/10 recommend! We also had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant, Layla, and loved every meal off of the mediterranean menu. Definitely don’t miss their sleek bar either, a pre dinner drink was a fun experience as well.
A few other places we ventured out to…
Dinner at Glen Ellen Star, which was incredible. We sat at the chef’s table which was fun (especially after watching The Bear)….
Lunch at Charter Oak… get the veggie plate the dip is out of this world good…
Lastly here are a few spots we missed that a lot of people recommended… Valley Bar & Bottle, Valley Swim Club, Schermeister and Flowers for wine tasting.
So excited to return here again soon! There is so much to explore and the getaway with Todd was just so perfect.
