Summer Staycation | Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara

August 13, 2019

Nothing beats a staycation if you ask me. It’s the ultimate way to detach yourself from the everyday routine yet not deal with the stress of going through an airport or traffic. We’ve kept pretty close to home this summer and I have to say, I don’t have any regrets nor do I feel like I need a vacation from my vacations.

One place that is very near and dear to our hearts is Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, exactly 12 minutes from our house. Not only is it a classic spot for our local town but it’s also where we stayed the night of our wedding 6 years ago. So what better place to cash in on an anniversary date night? Especially when the grandparents are in town to take Elin for one of the nights.

Here’s a little diary of our stay at one of our favorite places.

One thing I’m always captivated by is the insanely lush garden and trees that make up the grounds. Bungalows and rooms are tucked away in winding pathways and romantic staircases. Our room was just a few doors down from where we stayed the night of our wedding, which made it extra nostalgic.

The day we checked in (without Elin) we were escorted to a special anniversary dinner at Tydes called Romance on The Riviera—dinner in our own private cabana. It was an experience I will never forget. It started with meeting the chef in the kitchen, then we were escorted to a private deck overlooking the ocean for cocktails and then our private cabana complete with candles, music and our table with an incredible view of the ocean. To top it off the food was insanely good.

They thought of every detail for our private dining experience from cozy throws to personalized menus.

One thing I always look forward to when Elin stays with her grandparents is sleeping in, and that we did! I think I woke up at 6:45 (the norm) and quickly went back to sleep until 8 am which felt like such a luxury. Then (in my hotel robe) found this beautiful spread waiting for us. Sleeping in and room service? I couldn’t have asked for more on our anniversary.

Here’s what I wore during our stay:

We love bringing Elin along with us on trips, she gets so excited about hotels that it’s hard to leave her out. So she came and crashed the party on our second day/night and we had the best sunny pool day we could ask for. We’re both wearing Marysia suits here.

A Special thanks to our friends at Four Seasons for making our anniversary an unforgettably nostalgic and memorable one!
