I’ve been fantasizing about an Easter picnic since last May when I scored some baskets at a sale. Even though we were a year out, I marked my calendar and started collecting ideas. One of the first images I tucked away in my folder titled “hop hop” was a white bunny sugar cookie made by my friend
Elizabeth Colling of Merci To Go—you know I got them, scroll down! She helped me put together a Spring picnic menu and I started sourcing my vision of neutral tones with blush accents, babies and bunnies, lacy white dresses, wildflowers and glittery eggs. We got lucky with the weather and soaked in the 70+ degree day under an oak tree.

We picked the spot, a field just next door to my in-laws house. They let us borrow their coffee table which I surrounded with throw beds and cushions from
Hedgehouse—easily my favorite discovery as of late. You can roll them up, take them to the beach or just lounge on the floor at home. They’re crazy comfortable and the fabrics are
really good.

Hints of blush came from a bottle found at
Diani Living, wildflowers and hand died silk ribbon from
Tono + Co. Elizabeth made spring vegetable tarts, a mixed greens salad and deconstructed cheesecake.

Naturally, a live bunny (or 10) had to make an appearance. It was a huge hit with the kids, Elin is still talking about them.

When it comes to DIY projects I like to keep it simple. I took brown and white eggs (hardboiled) and lightly sprayed one side with
glue. Then took some
fine gold and silver glitter and dusted it over the area I sprayed.

Baby chicks made an appearance too! We used
Parties Fantastic out of LA who are amazing. They have mini horses, ducks, goats and more. Basket from
Diani Living.

I’ve turned into a basket lady this past year. Some of my favorites here:
Market Carry-All basket,
Fisherman’s basket and
Rustic Wire Basket. This natural
Easter basket grass is the best.
